Where do we start?

In order to create your custom private tour, we need you to answer a series of questions, such as what you would like to visit, what your group is like and how much time you have available. To make it easier for you, here are some ideas and suggestions that you can use:

Tour content: The most important question is, what do you want to visit and discover in the city; areas, monuments and museums. Below is a list in case you are not sure what Malaga and our guides have to offer.

Type of group: In order to adapt the route and its content, it is especially important for us to know what type of group you are: cultural association, family with children, group with reduced mobility, students, incentive group, retired…

Language: We have multiple language options, Spanish and English are the most common but if you need the visit in another language, do not hesitate to ask for availability.

Group: From 1 to 30 people per guide. If your group is larger than 30, more guides will be available so that the size of each group does not exceed 30 people. For a more enriching experience we recommend groups of a maximum of 20 people, so that each person in the group can be better catered for.

Duration: Totally to your liking, here are some examples:

  • 1 hour 30 minutes; recommended for families with children or groups with reduced mobility who wish to see the key points of the city or visit a single monument or museum.
  • 2 hours; there are our best selling tours, recommended for group visits who want to see the old town on a leisurely stroll.
  • 3 or 4 hours; for visitors who want to combine several parts of Malaga, such as a tour of the old town and a visit to a monument or museum. Or you want to see two museums and/or monuments.
  • More than 4 hours; for groups who want to make the most of the day in the city and visit several monuments or museums in addition to the historic centre. On tours of this length we always recommend a stop for a short break and a refreshment or meal.

Meeting point: At your convenience, the guide can pick up the group at the location that suits you best. There are two main options::

  • Meeting point in the historic centre such as Plaza de la Constitución o Plaza de la Merced.
  • Pick up at accommodation, hotel or apartment if located in the historic centre. If the accommodation is outside the city centre, a vehicle will be required.

Starting time: Whenever you want, depending on the season, we give you some recommendations:

  • Summer, if you don’t mind getting up early and starting the tour early, we can avoid the excessive heat. Or also, after 19:00 to enjoy a cooler evening.
  • Winter, if you want the tour in the afternoon, there are two options: to enjoy the natural light it is best to start after lunch, but another good option for the colder months is to enjoy the lights that the monuments offer at dusk and night. In the weeks around Christmast, Malaga has spectacular lighting from 19:00.

Special requirements: Some of the options we can include to further enhance your experience are:

  • Radio guides, recommended if it is a large group or we are going to visit museums.
  • Transport, depending on where the group is staying or places to visit.
  • Stops for free time/lunch, if the route is long it is advisable to include it.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, reservations are necessary for private tours.

No problem, we will ask you for a telephone number when booking so that we can contact you in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

Not at all. If you can have a nice walk around the city you can do this tour. Malaga is quite flat and on a private tour the tour guide will adapt to the speed of the group.

This tour is for you and your group, if you need to take one or more breaks, please let your tour guide know.

No problem, on this private tour you can choose when you want to start and when you want to finish, we will modify the route accordingly.

Yes, there are a couple of small hills on the tour, but it is 90% flat and quite easy.

The climate in Malaga is wonderful, however in summer it can get quite hot. We recommend comfortable shoes and a bottle of water. In summer even sunglasses and sunscreen.

We do tours in all types of weather. In Malaga it is unusual for it to rain, but even if it rains a lot, the tour will still take place. So we recommend you bring an umbrella and a raincoat.
